Best Blenders for Nut Milk

5 Best Blenders for Nut Milk (Almond Milk, Cashew Milk…)

There’s no doubt about it!  Homemade nut milk tastes so much better than store-bought. You control exactly how much sugar and calories are going in there.

If you want to make silky-smooth nut milk, there’s no way around a good blender. You could make nut milk with a food processor, but the results won’t be quite as good and smooth.

A little down below you’ll find my top picks for the best blenders for nut milk.

I’ve been making almond milk and cashew milk for years. You can’t just go out and buy any blender for making nut milk.

Most regular blenders lack the blending power needed for the job.

What makes a good blender for nut milk?

The best blenders for nut milk combine a strong motor with thought-through blade design. The more powerful the motor is, the better the results. I would go for blenders with at least 1,000 watts of blending power.

If you want the smoothest results possible, there’s no way around a high-speed blender like a Vitamix.

I would also recommend getting a nut milk bag or at least a very fine mesh strainer. No matter how powerful your blender is, there will always be a few small unprocessed chunks left.

Without any further delay, here are my favorite blenders for making nut milk.

The 5 Best Blenders for Nut Milk

1. NutriBullet Blender Combo – Best Blender for Nut Milk

The NutriBullet Blender Combo (or NutriBullet ZNBF30500Z) is NutriBullet’s latest generation blender. It’s both a single-serve blender as well as a full-size countertop blender.

It comes with a powerful 1,200-watt motor and is NutriBullet’s first blender that comes with a tamper.

The tamper allows you to make perfect nut milk without the need for stopping in between and scraping the sides.

This NutriBullet blender comes with a large 64 oz jar, as well as smaller 32 oz and 24 oz cups. The larger jar has the right size for making nut milk for your whole family.

If you’re making nut milk for one or two persons, simply use the smaller cups. They’re super easy to clean and get the job done quicker.

Making nut milk with the NutriBullet isn’t difficult at all!

This blender only has a handful of buttons, and all buttons are clearly labeled. The 1,200-watt base has more than enough power to make silky-smooth nut milk.

If you’re making almond milk (my favorite) it’s best to soak the almonds the night before to get the best results.

Then add your soaked almonds, water, and some vanilla extract to your NutriBullet and let it run on the highest setting for a minute or two.

Once done blending, simply strain out the pulp. No matter how much blending power a blender has, it’ll never liquefy all the nuts completely.

I like to use a nut milk bag to make sure the milk is super smooth. This nut milk bag is my favorite, it gets great results and is long-lasting. Using a super-fine mesh strainer should get the job done as well.

Besides making healthy nut milk, you can make smoothies, soups, cocktails, sauces in this blender. It even has enough power to make creamy nut butter, the most difficult task for any blender.

Pros:

  • The 1,200-watt motor is powerful for a blender in this price range
  • Makes perfect silk-smooth nut milk
  • It’s quieter than most high-speed blenders
  • Comes with one large jar, as well two smaller single-serve cups
  • 2in1 device; it’s both a full-size countertop blender and personal blender
  • The smaller travel cups come with secure lids
  • It’s the first NutriBullet blender that comes with a tamper
  • Pitcher and cups are dishwasher safe

Cons:

  • Blades aren’t removable; makes it more difficult to clean
  • The base is somewhat heavy and difficult to move around

Overall Opinion: If you want a powerful blender for nut milk that won’t break the bank, this latest generation NutriBullet blender is a good choice. For the price of just one device, you’ll get both a single-serve and full-size blender.

2. Vitamix E310 – Professional Blender for Nut Milk

When it comes to the best blenders for nut milk, Vitamix has to be on the list. Vitamix blenders are used by restaurants and juice bars all over the world. And that’s for a good reason!

Vitamix blenders are among the most durable and most powerful blenders money can buy.

The Vitamix  E310 is their entry-level model. Although it’s an affordable Vitamix model, that doesn’t mean it’s less powerful than their higher-priced blenders.

Vitamix uses only two different motor sizes in its current models. A 2 horsepower motor and a 2.2 horsepower motor. These motors have more than enough power for making smooth nut milk.

The Vitamix E310 has the 2 hp motor. There really isn’t much of a difference between the 2 hp and 2.2 hp motor. Blend quality is pretty much the same!

With a Vitamix, you can make so much more than just nut milk!

This versatile kitchen helper can make chunk-free juices and smoothies, hot soups, fluffy dough, creamy nut butter, frozen desserts, dressings & sauces, baby foods, dips, and so much more.

The Vitamix’ motors are so powerful that they reach speeds fast enough to create friction heats! That means you can bring cold ingredients to steaming hot in just 6 minutes!

Imagine adding fresh veggies to your blender jar, let it run for a few minutes, walk away, and after just 6 minutes you’ll have a piping hot, healthy, homemade soup. It’s really that easy!

All without cooking, just with the friction of the blades. That’s what you get if you decide on a high-powered blender like a Vitamix.

Now, if this blender can bring cold ingredients to piping hot in just a few minutes, it sure has the power to make super smooth nut milk.

As with every Vitamix blender, the built quality is as good as it can get. It’s not easy to find a blender that has better quality than a Vitamix.

The only competitor that comes close is Blendtec, and their blenders play in a similar price range.

I like Vitamix better though. Let me explain why.

Compared to Blendtec, a Vitamix is easier to use.

Blendtec blenders don’t come with a tamper and you have to stack the ingredients in the right order to make it work, which can be annoying.

If the blending power and built quality are comparable to $500+ Vitamix models, then why is the E310 so “cheap”? Cheap is probably not the right word for a Vitamix, but compared to other models, it’s a steal!

The E310 doesn’t come with all the bells and whistles the more expensive models have these days. It doesn’t have Bluetooth, an LCD display, or presets. If you don’t need any of these, the E310 will serve you right.

It comes with a classic professional blender design. There’s a pulse function, a 10-speed dial, and an on/off button. That’s it. It doesn’t get much easier than that.

The E310 has a 48 oz, low-profile container. If you want to make large batches, this jar might be too small. You can get bigger containers, but these are somewhat pricey.

On the other side, the low-profile container fits under most cabinets. The size is big enough for most users and is very easy to clean.

The E310 is also compatible with the smaller smoothie cups if you use the Personal Cup Adaptor.

After you’ve finished blending, cleanup is a breeze.

Simply add a drop of dish soap and some water. Turn the blender on for 30 seconds and let it clean itself. The motor is strong enough to get the jar clean in no time.

Some Vitamix models come with 7-year or even 10-year warranties, but the E310 has “only” 5 years. Compared to other blender brands that’s still impressive, but it’s shorter than higher-priced Vitamix models. The E310 is assembled in the US and should last you a long time.

Pros:

  • The most affordable Vitamix out there
  • It comes with a powerful 2 horsepower motor
  • Easy-to-use classic Vitamix design
  • 48 oz low-profile container fits under most cabinets
  • Built quality is excellent
  • The E310 is assembled in the US and comes with a full 5-year warranty

Cons:

  • Doesn’t have any fancy functions or presets
  • The jar might be too small for larger families
  • The E310 is a loud blender

Overall Opinion: Vitamix blenders are the best blenders for nut milk. They’re the most powerful and durable blenders out there. They’re made in the US and are built to last. If you don’t need a fancy-looking LCD display and presets, the E310 will serve you right. It has the same blending functionality than higher-end models but costs only a fraction of their price.

3. Ninja Professional BL610 – Budget Pick

If you don’t want to spend a fortune for a blender that can make nut milk, the Ninja Professional is an affordable option.

The Ninja BL610 Professional comes with a great-looking, sleek design and 1000 watts of blending power. That’s not as powerful as a Vitamix, but it gets the job done.

What I love about the Ninja is the large 72 oz jar. You can make large batches of nut milk for up to 8 people.

The Ninja Professional comes with what Ninja calls “Total Crushing Technology”. There are six blades pointing in different directions that allow you to crush ice faster than most other blenders. It also blends ingredients super smooth.

No matter if you want to make nut butter, smoothies, nut milk, or crush ice, this blender will get the job done!

Watch Ninja’s “Total Crushing Technology” in action:

The blade is removable. It allows you to clean the jar more easily. You’ve got to be cautious while cleaning the blade assembly though. The six blades are super sharp!

The downside to the Ninja is that its built quality isn’t on par with a Vitamix. The jar is made out of relatively thin plastic and some users reported cracking of the jar after heavy usage. All Ninja blenders only come with a short 1-year limited warranty.

Pros:

  • The Ninja Professional is very affordable
  • It has more power than your regular standard blender
  • Total Crushing Technology turns ice into snow in seconds
  • Large 72 oz jar allows you to make large batches of nut milk
  • You can remove the blades for easy cleanup

Cons:

  • Some users report cracking and leaking of the jar after a while
  • Smoothies aren’t as smooth as with a high-powered blender
  • A lot of plastic, not as durable as a Vitamix
  • It only comes with a short 1-year limited warranty

Overall Opinion: When it comes to value for the money, nothing can beat Ninja in my opinion. They might not be as powerful and durable as a Vitamix, but they’ll only cost a fraction of the price. The Ninja Professional has a unique six-blade design that gets most blending jobs done quickly. It can make perfect smooth nut milk and creamy nut butter. If you’re in need of a good blender for crushing ice, get the Ninja. Thanks to the “Total Crushing Technology” it crushes ice into snow in seconds.

4. Ninja Foodi – Hot&Cold Nut Milk Blender

The Ninja Foodi is Ninja’s latest generation blender. It’s one of the few Ninja blenders that come with a tamper to push down ingredients.

This blender includes a 64 oz glass jar and features a 1400-watt motor. There really aren’t that many glass jar blenders available. For all of you glass jar lovers, here are my favorite blenders with a glass jar

The Ninja Foodi is so much more than just a regular blender!

It’s one of the few (and probably the best) blender that comes with a heating element. Now, what does that mean?

It means this blender can boil cold ingredients to steaming hot in minutes. You can make hot soups, sauces, or even melt chocolate and cheese fondue.

There’s also a heated cleaning preset. You simply add some water, push a single button, and the blender will clean itself while you walk away!

Talking about presets. The Ninja Foodi has lots of them. It comes with twelve so-called Auto-iQ settings.

These twelve automatic programs will do all the work for you. Absolutely no guesswork involved! Just press one button and you can walk away. The built-in digital timer will show you the precise blending time at all times.

No matter if you want to make smoothies, frozen drinks, hot soups and sauces, ice cream, or cocktails – there’s a preset for it! You won’t find a more versatile blender selling at this price.

Sure enough, the 1,400-watt motor has plenty of power. It makes perfect nut milk. If you’re a fan of warm soy milk, the Ninja Foodi is an excellent choice. The heating element inside of the jar will heat up your soy milk in just a few minutes.

Pros:

  • Blends almost as smooth as a Vitamix
  • Great-looking and responsive touch display
  • Compared to other high-speed blenders the Ninja is affordable
  • One of the few great blenders that comes with a glass jar
  • Built-in 800-watt heating element allows you to cook with your blender
  • 12 Auto-iQ settings take out all the guesswork; press one button and walk away!
  • There’s a built-in digital timer that always shows you the precise blending time left
  • Glass jar won’t leach nasty chemicals into your blend

Cons:

  • Ninja’s 1-year limited warranty is short
  • You can’t submerge the jar in water because of the heating element. Always clean with caution or use the automatic self-cleaning function.
  • The glass jar with the built-in heating element is heavy

Overall Opinion: The Ninja Foodi is a great blender for making nut milk. There’s plenty of power available. The 1,400-watt motor powers through even the toughest ingredients. It allows you to make silk-smooth nut milk in no time. The built-in heating element turns this blender into a versatile kitchen helper. You can make healthy homemade soups, sauces, and so much more.

5. Nutri Ninja BL480 – Best Personal Blender for Nut Milk

If you’re looking for a good personal blender for nut milk, it’s worth checking out the Ninja BL480 with Auto-IQ. This single-serve blender has it all! A powerful 1,000-watt motor, durable BPA-free cups, and smart presets.

It comes with two jars, a regular 24 oz cup, and a smaller 18 oz cup.

If you’ve ever used a Nutri Ninja, you’ll know how powerful these small blenders are. They can liquefy almost everything in just a few seconds.

What I love about the latest generation Ninja BL480 with Auto-IQ is that it runs completely hands-free. With the classic 900-watt Nutri Ninja, you always had to hold down the jar to make it run.

I own both devices and while I love both, the BL480 is so much more convenient! Just press a single button and walk away while it does the job for you. The Nutri Ninja has a digital display that shows you the remaining time.

The new 1,000-watt motor is also more powerful than the previous generation Nutri Ninja. It pulverizes everything so thoroughly! Even tiniest seeds get liquefied.

And it’s so easy to use.

There are only a few buttons and everything is clearly labeled and self-explanatory.

You can choose from two Auto-IQ settings. The Blend and Ultra Blend mode. For making nut milk, I’d always go for the more thorough Ultra Blend mode.

Once you select your Auto-IQ setting, the Nutri Ninja goes through automatic blending cycles. It’ll blend for a while, then stops, and starts blending again. It does that for 60 seconds in the Ultra Blend mode. The Blend mode runs shorter at 30 seconds.

Of course, there’s also a manual mode that gives you full control over your blend. You’ll also get a standard pulse function.

Pros:

  • When it comes to value for the money, nothing can beat Ninja
  • It’s one of the most powerful personal blenders
  • Comes with two thick, durable cups; a regular 24oz and a smaller 18 oz jar
  • Runs 100% hands-free
  • Comes with two smart Auto-IQ settings and automated blending cycles
  • The size is perfect for travel and smaller kitchens
  • Smaller size makes it very easy to clean
  • It includes a cute booklet with great smoothie recipes

Cons:

  • The 1,000-watt motor is noisy for a small blender
  • As with every Ninja, the warranty is short at only 1 year
  • Not big enough for large families

Is It Better to Use a Food Processor or Blender for Making Nut Milk?

It’s possible to use a food processor to make nut milk. I’ve made nut milk in both a blender and a food processor. I actually like the nut milk made in a blender better. If you strain it with a nut milk bag, you’ll get a nice sweet flavor and a very smooth texture. Milk made in a food processor tends to be thicker and not quite as smooth. If you already have a food processor, try it for yourself and see if you like the results.
