Best Juicer for Ginger

The 7 Best Juicers for Ginger and Ginger Shots

If you’ve ever tried to juice ginger, you know how difficult it can be. Juicing ginger is a challenging task for almost any juicer! If you really want to get the most out of it, there’s no way around an effective ginger juicer. The best juicers for ginger are slow masticating juicers, there’s no question about it. Slow juicers squeeze out the last drop out of ginger, giving you the highest juice yield possible.

Just a few years ago, you would have to spend a fortune on slow juicers. With so many competitors and juicer models on the market right now, prices are dropping like a rock. These days, you can get a great ginger juicer that will blow your mind, without blowing your bank account.

Why Are Slow Juicers the Best Ginger Juicers?

Certain type of juicers will juice certain produce items better than others. If you’re mostly going to juice ginger, a slow juicer will give you a higher juice yield than a fast centrifugal juicer.

Slow juicers are also known as masticating juicers. They get their name from the way they grind and cut through fruits and veggies. They slowly grind out all the juice and extract every last drop of precious ginger juice. They get your daily ginger juice into your glass with minimal oxidation and maximum nutrition.

Centrifugal juicers, also known as fast juicers, tend to be slightly more affordable than masticating juicers. They have fast-spinning blades and shred the ingredients, instead of grinding them. They don’t extract as much juice from ginger than a masticating juicer does.

I still included a few great centrifugal juicers for juicing ginger at the end of the article. Centrifugal juicers are less expensive, juice faster, and are easier to use, making them the perfect ginger juicer for beginners. If you’re juicing ginger amongst other ingredients, a fast centrifugal juicer can still be a great choice.

Without further delay, let’s get into our extensive review of the best juicers for ginger and compare the best ginger juicers.

The 7 Best Juicers for Ginger

1. Aicok Slow Juicer | Affordable Ginger Juicer

The Aicok Slow Juicer is a slow masticating juicer. It’s not only one of the best juicers for ginger, but also very affordable. Aicok has revolutionized the juicer market during the last few years. When I started juicing seven years ago, a great slow juicer like this would cost $300 or more.

It’s a nice compact juicer that fits well into any kitchen. It comes with a strong 150-watt motor that rotates the auger at a slow and steady 80 RPM. Because of the slow speed, your ginger juice is less prone to oxidation. You can store your juice made with the Aicok for up to three days in the fridge without losing too many nutrients. If you want to learn more about how different types of juicers affect the shelf life of fresh juice, check out this article we’ve written about this topic: How Long Does Fresh Juice Last?

The Aicok is not only a great juicer for ginger, but it juices pretty much anything. No matter if you want to make ginger shots, fruit juices, or healthy green juice, the Aicok gets it done. The pulp this juicer produces is super dry, letting you know you’re not wasting your expensive fruits and veggies. When it comes to juice yield and juice quality, the Aicok performs as well as some of the most efficient juicers that cost twice and three times as much. Don’t believe me? Watch this juice off between the Aicok and the $300 Omega juicer:

Note: It seems like the Aicok Slow Juicer has become more expensive in the last few months and is now selling over $100. If you’re in need of a more affordable alternative, check out Aicok’s latest generation slow juicer model.

If you’ve ever owned a noisy centrifugal juicer, you’ll enjoy the quiet motor of the Aicok slow juicer. It runs at less than 60 decibels. That’s less than the sound level of a normal conversation. You can make healthy ginger juice early in the morning before you go to work or late at night without waking up the house.

The Aicok is not only one of the best ginger juicers, but also one of the easier to clean slow juicers. This compact machine only has five small removable parts that you can rinse off in seconds. The Aicok comes with a 2-year warranty that can be extended to 3 years free of charge.

  • The Aicok is more affordable than most competitors.
  • Performs as well as some models that cost twice as much.
  • It juices ginger like a champ.
  • Its compact size makes it easy to leave on the counter.
  • The Aicok juices a wide variety of fruits and veggies.
  • One of the easier to clean slow juicers.
  • Operates quietly at less than 60 dB.
  • Comes with a 3-year warranty.

  • Most parts are made of plastic.

Overall Opinion: What’s not to love about the Aicok slow juicer? It’s easy to use and clean and performs just like some juicers that cost twice and three times as much. Don’t be fooled by its small size and low price, this compact juicer is powerful!

2. Aobosi Slow Juicer | Juices Ginger All Day Long

The Aobosi Slow Juicer is another great ginger juicer that won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Just like the Aicok, the Aobosi is a slow masticating juicer. It comes with a super quiet 150-watt motor and rotates at a slow 80 RPM. A single-auger slow juicer like this extracts at least 20% more juice and 15% more vitamins than any centrifugal juicer on the market. You get more of the “good stuff” out of everything you put in.

What I love about the Aobosi is the built-in foam separator.

Who else hates foam on top of fresh juices? I sure do! Aobosi has built in a foam separator into the juice jug. It leaves all the foam in the container, giving you nothing but delicious, clear juice.

Now let’s get back to what we’re here for. Juicing ginger and making awesome ginger shots!

When it comes to juicing ginger, the Aobosi is a workhorse. You can juice large amounts of ginger in a short time. Simply cut up the ginger into bite-size pieces and feed it slowly into the machine. The pulp comes out very dry, so you know you’re getting every last bit of juice out of it.

It not only juices ginger like a champ but with the Aobosi you can juice almost anything. It does a great job on tomatoes, carrots, turmeric, apples, oranges, cucumbers, and so much more. A versatile juicer like this makes living healthier so much easier.

  • It’s one of the most inexpensive slow juicers on the market.
  • Juices ginger and leafy greens like a more expensive juicer.
  • It doesn’t make much noise.
  • Built-in foam separator is genius.

  • The feed chute is quite narrow.
  • It can wobble if you don’t cut hard veggies into smaller pieces.

Overall Opinion: The Aobosi Slow Juicer is very similar to the Aicok Slow Juicer in terms of performance, juice yield, and juice quality. It handles everything from hard ginger to leafy greens. It’s easy to take apart and comes with a cleaning brush. If you can get it at a huge discount to the Aicok Slow Juicer, go for it.

3. Omega NC800 | 15-year Warranty

Now let’s get to the more advanced ginger juicers. The Omega NC800 is one of the best juicers for ginger if you can handle the price tag that comes with it. It’s a bit of an overkill if you’re only going to use it for juicing ginger though. If you’re serious about juicing, however, and want to juice a wider variety of fruits and veggies, this is one of the best juicers out there.

If you’ve ever researched juicers, you probably heard of Omega. They have been around longer than I am alive, producing awesome juicers for decades.

The Omega NC800 is Omega’s latest generation slow juicer. It’s even more efficient than previous Omega models and these were already some great juicers. It extracts up to 25% more juice out of leafy greens than the older Omega models. See it for yourself in this juice off, where John juices one pound of leafy greens in both the new Omega NC800 and the Omega 8004. It’s a long video, but it’s worth it:

The Omega NC800 is powered by a strong 2 horsepower (that’s not a typo) motor. With a powerful motor like this, you can juice ginger all day every day without the motor ever slowing down. The slow speed of only 80 RPM gives you the highest juice quality with the least amount of oxidation. The motor is slightly louder than the one from the Aicok, but you can still juice any time without disturbing your neighbors or family members.

What’s new in the Omega NC800 is the adjustable end cap. It allows you to control exactly how much or little pulp you want to have in your juices. The end cap keeps the pulp in for longer and extracts more juice out of everything you put in. The pulp is super dry, even a bit drier than the one from the Aicok or the Aobosi. That’s pretty impressive since the Aicok is already very efficient when it comes to juicing ginger and other fruits and veggies.

The Omega NC800 now also has an 80% wider feed chute compared to older Omega models. The wide feed chute won’t benefit you when you’re only going to juice ginger though. Ginger is small enough to fit in the smallest feed chute without any issues.

However, if you’re juicing apples or other big fruits, you’re going to love the wide feed chute. You won’t have to cut everything into tiny little chunks. If you’ve ever owned a juicer with a narrow feed chute, you’ll learn to appreciate a wider chute. It literally cuts your preparation time in half.

Omega juicers are more durable than cheaper models and can last you for a long time. If you ever encounter a problem with your new juicer, don’t worry. The Omega NC800 comes with a 15-year warranty against any parts defects or manufacturer errors. That’s the longest warranty in the whole juicing industry.

  • Up to 25% more juice than previous generation Omega juicers.
  • Comes with an 80% wider feed chute.
  • Incredibly powerful 2 horsepower motor.
  • Comes with an extensive 15-year warranty.
  • Super easy to clean, only takes 2 minutes.

  • High price tag.
  • The adjustable end cap has a slightly higher learning curve.

Overall Opinion: If you’re looking for a top-notch ginger juicer that will last you for many years to come, Omega is the to-go brand. The Omega NC800 is their latest generation model and is more efficient than any Omega juicer before. It comes with a convenient wide feed chute and an adjustable end cap. It’s one of the best juicers for ginger and other fruits and veggies.

4. Greenstar Elite | Twin Gear Ginger Juicer

The Tribest Greenstar Elite is the best juicer for ginger if you want to get the maximum out of it. It’s not only the perfect ginger juicer, but it juices all kind of fruits and veggies like a champ.

This juicer is a premium twin gear juicer. Twin gear juicers are the most efficient and best juicers out there. They come with a high price tag, but they’re worth every penny.

The Greenstar Elite mimics the way our teeth crunch and squeezes food in three stages. The first stage crushes the fruits and veggies slowly. In the second step, the mixing stage, this juicer slowly releases the nutrition out of ginger and other fruits and veggies. And in the third stage, the juice is pressed out.

The Tribest Greenstar Elite squeezes out the last drop and the pulp is even drier than with the Omega NC800. Nothing is wasted. With a juicer like this, you’ll never have to run the pulp through a second time, it always gets every drop out of it the first time.

You will hardly hear the Greenstar Elite working. It’s very quiet. It processes fruits and veggies slowly. A three-stage twin gear juicer not only gives you the highest juice yield, but also the most nutritious juice possible.

Stringy vegetables and ginger roots are no match for the Greenstar Elite. This juicer just won’t clog, no matter what you put in. The twin gears handle even the toughest ingredients like no other slow juicer.

The downside to this kind of juicer is not only the high price tag but also the cleaning part. It’ll take you longer to clean this machine, then let’s say the Omega NC800 or the Aicok slow juicer.

It takes me about 10 minutes to clean my Greenstar Elite after juicing. I use it to make large batches for days in advance, so I always have fresh juice all the time. The juice taste and looks great even 2-3 days after juicing.

  • Three-stage twin gear juicers give you the highest juice yield of any juicer.
  • Juice quality is excellent and tastes great even days after juicing.
  • Comes with a 12-year warranty.

  • It’s an expensive juicer.
  • A twin gear juicer has a higher learning curve.
  • Hard produce is somewhat difficult to push down the chute.
  • It’s more difficult to clean than most juicers.

Overall Opinion: The Tribest Greenstar Elite is the Rolls Royce of slow juicers. It gives you more juice out of everything you put in. Juice made with a three-stage twin gear juicer not only looks better, but it’s more nutritious and tastes delicious. If you’re serious about juicing and juice a lot of leafy greens amongst ginger, this is a great investment.

The Best Centrifugal Juicers for Ginger

1. Mueller Austria | Affordable Centrifugal Juicer

The Muller Austria is an inexpensive centrifugal juicer. Centrifugal juicers are the types of juicers you can find at Walmart or Best Buy. It’s an entry-level juicer and not the most efficient juicer when it comes to juicing ginger. Why did it still make it on my list of the best juicers for ginger you might ask?

Easy! Because a juicer like this juices fast and it’s easier to use than any slow juicer. It’ll take you less time to juice with the Mueller Austria than with the Aicok slow juicer for example. From my experience, juicing 16 oz with a centrifugal juicer might take you 30 seconds. Juicing 16 oz with a slow juicer can take you 2 minutes or longer.

If you’re just starting out with juicing and only want to make a ginger shot once in a while, this is a great juicer. It comes with a strong 1,100-watt motor. There’s absolutely no clogging with a juicer like this.

What I love about this centrifugal juicer is not only the fast speed but also the 3-inch wide feed chute.

That’s one of the widest feed chutes you’ll ever find on a juicer. A wide feed chute like this is so convenient. You won’t have to cut your fruits into tiny little chunks to make it feed the chute. You can insert most whole fruits and veggies without any precutting at all.

When it comes to cleaning, this is also one of the easier to clean juicers.

It’s easy to disassemble, even if you never used a juicer before. Just scrape out the pulp, and rinse the few removable parts and you’re ready for your next juicing session.

  • This entry-level juicer is very affordable.
  • 1,100-watt motor juices super fast.
  • Easy to use and clean.

  • Juice yield not as high as with a slow juicer.
  • This juicer is noisy.

Overall Opinion: If you’re just starting out with juicing, start slow! You won’t need a $500 juicer to make a glass of juice once in a while. The Mueller Austria juicer might not be the most efficient juicer out there, but it’s strong and juices fast. WIth a juicer like this, you can extract a glass of ginger juice in no time.

2. Breville JE98XL | The Joe Cross Juicer

Have you seen the great documentary “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead” where Joe Cross goes on a juice fast to regain his health? Then you’re probably familiar with the Breville JE98XL, it’s the juicer Joe Cross uses in this exact movie. The Breville JE98XL, also known as the Juice Fountain Plus, is a durable and fast centrifugal juicer.

Ginger is no match for this juicer, the 850-watt motor makes quick work of it. The Breville not only juices ginger, but also whole apples, pears, and oranges and other fruits and veggies in seconds. It comes with overload protection LED. If you’re ever going to overload this machine, it’ll automatically stop on its own.

What I love about this Breville juicer is the built-in froth separator.

It effectively removes froth from your juices and gives you nothing but clear, delicious juice. The extra wide 3-inch feed chute allows you to juice whole fruits and vegetables without much preparation. It also comes with an extra durable titanium reinforced cutting disc and Italian-made micro mesh filter. It filters out all the pulp, especially if you’re juicing ginger and other stringy vegetables.

Unlike cheaper models, this premium centrifugal juicer comes with two speeds.

It has a slower 6,500 RPM mode for leafy greens and soft fruits. It extracts more juice out of lightweight leafy greens than the high-speed setting. It’s not on par with a slow juicer when it comes to juicing ginger and leafy greens, but at least you’re not wasting most of it.

The fast 12,000 RPM setting is ideal for hard fruits and veggies, like carrots, apples, and beets. A centrifugal juicer like this really excels when it comes to juicing hard produce. It juices it faster than any other type of juicer. It literally only takes you seconds to get a full glass of fresh juice.

Joe Cross probably used this juicer, because it’s fast and easy to clean.

If you’re on a juice fast and juice daily, you really want a fast juicer that’s easy to clean. Most parts of this juicer can be cleaned on the top shelf of your dishwasher. With the included cleaning brush it’s not too difficult to clean by hand either.

  • Strong 850-watt motor with two speeds.
  • Low-speed mode juices leafy greens more effectively.
  • Juices hard produce like carrots, apples, beets like a champ.
  • Superfine Italian-made mesh filter and titanium reinforced cutting disc.

  • Doesn’t juice ginger as well as a slow juicer.
  • More expensive than entry-level centrifugal juicers.

Overall Opinion: The Breville JE98XL has been around for a long time and is still one of the best selling juicers up to this date. That’s for a reason! It juices fast, comes with two speeds, and is easy to use and clean. A great and convenient juicer for your daily ginger juice.

3. Breville 800JEXL | Premium Ginger Juicer

Let me introduce you the Ferrari of fast juicers, the Breville 800JEXL. This durable and heavy 1000-watt centrifugal juicer looks and feels amazing. It comes with a shiny die-cast steel housing that looks great on any countertop.

Everything about this juicer screams premium.

The 1,000-watt motor is fast! It’ll only take you a few seconds to make a full glass of healthy ginger juice. Unlike cheaper centrifugal juicers, the Breville 800JEXL is very stable even in high-speed mode.

The pulp is pretty dry for a centrifugal juicer. The juice is filtered through a superfine Italian-made stainless steel mesh filter with over 40,000 filtering pores. There’s almost no pulp in the juice.

The Breville 800JEXL is larger and heavier than most centrifugal juicers. It comes with a large 36 oz juice jug and a large pulp bin. With a large juicer like this, you’ll never have to stop to empty the pulp container while juicing. The 3-inch wide feed chute makes this juicer so easy to use.

When it comes to cleaning, the Breville 800JEXL is a clear winner.

Everything comes apart so easily, just like you would expect of a juicer in this price range. The seven removable parts clean under running water in no time. It’ll take you less than 5 minutes to clean this beauty by hand.

Just like other juicers, the mesh filter is the most difficult part to clean. The included brushing clean will help you clean it a lot faster though. You can toss most parts in your dishwasher. However, with an expensive juicer like this, I would always clean it by hand to keep it in great condition.

  • Powerful 1,000-watt motor with two speeds.
  • Die-cast steel housing looks and feels great.
  • Built-in froth separator works great.
  • Low-speed mode for softer fruits and leafy greens.
  • Stainless steel mesh filter with over 40,000 filtering pores for pulp-free juice.
  • Very stable even when in high-speed mode.

  • One of the most expensive centrifugal juicers out there.
  • It’s a large and heavy machine.
  • The 1000-watt motor is loud.

Overall Opinion: This centrifugal juicer is a beast! It juices so fast it makes your head spin. The super fine mesh filter with over 40,000 pores filters out all the pulp and gives you clear juice with only minimal foam on top. Is this machine worth the high price it sells for? Only if you use it frequently! It’s way too expensive if you’re only going to juice ginger with it. If you want to juice a wider variety of fruits and veggies on a daily basis, this is a good choice. There just aren’t that many centrifugal juicers that can rival this beast. It’s in a class of its own.

Can You Make Ginger Juice Without a Juicer?

Using a juicer to juice ginger is by far the easiest and most efficient way, there’s no question about it. With juicers becoming less and less expensive during the last few years, there’s really no need to juice ginger without a juicer.

If you still want to try juicing ginger without a juicer, here’s how I would do it. How to make ginger shots without a juicer:

What Is the Best Juicer for Ginger?

The best juicer for ginger is a slow juicer. With a good slow, masticating ginger juicer you can extract more juice out of it than a centrifugal juicer ever could. The downside to slow juicers is that they’re slightly more expensive than an entry-level centrifugal juicer.

If you don’t care much about juice yield and just want to juice ginger once in a while, a centrifugal juicer is a more affordable option. A centrifugal juicer is easy to use and juices super fast. It’s a great juicer for those of us who are just starting out with juicing. In this article, I have included both the best centrifugal juicers for ginger, as well as the best slow juicers for ginger. The choice is yours.

Do You Need to Peel Ginger Before You Juice It?

First of all, always wash your ginger thoroughly before juicing it. You really don’t need to peel ginger before juicing if it’s organic. If you juice non-organic ginger, it won’t hurt if you peel the ginger before you juice it.

How Do You Juice Ginger In a Juicer?

Juicing ginger in a juicer is not rocket science. You simply wash it thoroughly, turn your juicer on, and put the ginger in. Feed it slowly, especially if you’re juicing ginger with a slow juicer. Also, always make sure to cut it into smaller chunks, when juicing with a slow juicer. Especially vertical slow juicers are prone to clogging if you don’t cut the ginger into small enough pieces.

All the slow ginger juicers introduced here are horizontal slow juicers. They won’t clog as easily, but it’s still a good idea to precut ginger into smaller chunks.

With a centrifugal juicer, juicing ginger is even easier! If it fits through the feed chute, it’ll juice the ginger without clogging. One trick to juicing ginger is to always juice it first. Then juice high-water ingredients like cucumber, celery, apples, or lemons to wash out all the ginger juice.

These were some of the best juicers for ginger. I hope you found this extensive review of ginger juicers helpful and it has given you a good place to start your own research.
