Best Blender for Protein Shakes

Best Blender for Protein Shakes 2020

Do you want to have the most delicious milkshake-like protein drinks in seconds? Then it’s time for a blender. The wide variety of blenders out there can be daunting.

I’ve done hours of research to help you find the best blender for protein shakes that will perfectly match your budget and needs.

Find the Best Blender for Protein Shakes

Before I can help you find your perfect protein shake blender, I need to know two things:

➀ What Kind of Protein Shakes Do You Drink?

Do you mix your protein powder with simple water or milk?

Or do you add tough ingredients like nuts, ice cubes, and even veggies to your protein shakes?

If you just want to mix your shakes with liquids and fruits, you won’t need a high-powered blender, and you can save some money. On the other hand, if you want to add ice cubes, veggies, and nuts, we will need some more power.

➁ What Is Your Serving Size?

I have two blenders. One personal blender and one full-size countertop blender. The difference between the two is the size.

Personal blenders are easy to clean and store, they are perfect for single-serve protein shakes or smoothies. You can drink your shake right out of the blender jar and take it with you to the gym or work.

If you want to make single-serve protein shakes, choose a small personal blender. If you’re going to make more than one serving at a time, it’s best to pick a full-size countertop blender.

Have you decided which kind of protein shakes you want to make and what your preferred serving size is? Alright, then choose one of these four categories:

Best Portable Protein Shake Blenders

1. Oster BLSTPB-WBL My Blend | Best Choice

Best Blender for Protein Shakes

Using the blender with its simple one-touch control is effortless. There’s really nothing to figure out, simply fill and blend with just a twist of the bottle.

The jar you use for blending is a 20 oz BPA-free portable bottle. You won’t need an extra cup, the shake you make is inside the plastic sports bottle already.

You can take it with you to the gym or enjoy your protein shakes wherever you go. The travel lid is secure; you can carry it with you in your bag every day without fear of spilling your shakes.

You can buy additional sports bottles separately in four different colors. If you want to use the blender with several people in your home, everyone can have their own bottle in the color of their choice. You can throw the bottles in your dishwasher and wash it along with all the other dishes.

Measuring just 6.9 x 6.7 x 14.9 inches, it will hardly take up any space on your countertop. You can choose your favorite color out of five colors. The Oster My Blend comes with a one-year limited warranty.

Cons: If you want to crush ice, please make sure you don’t put too much ice into the jar. 250 watt is not enough power to crush large amounts of ice.

Overall Opinion: I love the stylish and trendy look of the Oster My Blend. It’s easy to use, and the sports bottle container is awesome. It works well for protein shakes and fruit smoothies. The Oster My Blend is the best blender for protein shakes if you want a modern-looking, low-priced option.

2. PopBabies Portable Blender | The Gym Hero

If you want to make fresh protein shakes everywhere you go, you will love this PopBabies Portable Blender. This travel blender features built-in lithium batteries that can be recharged with USB.

It’s easy to use anywhere. You can make your protein shake right at the gym or make a fresh smoothie while sitting in your car, how cool is that?

You have the choice to either take the whole blender with you, or make your protein shakes at home, and only carry the travel cup in your bag.

This blender is very easy to clean, just insert some water and press the start button. This process even cleans the inside of the lid. It’s also dishwasher safe.

The battery lasts for up to seven days before you have to recharge it for 2-3 hours. This battery-operated lightweight is powerful; it has even enough juice to crush small ice cubes, chopped veggies, and frozen fruits. The package includes a mini ice cube tray, which is not only cute but also useful.

It comes with a timer, you press the button once, and it will blend for 20 seconds. The motor has 175 watts and the protein shake blender comes with a 16-ounce BPA-free travel cup.

Cons: If you use it often, you will have to recharge it every 4 to 5 days.

Overall Opinion: I’m really impressed with this travel blender. It’s powerful, and you can take it with you anywhere you go. If you want to have fresh, delicious protein shakes on the go, this little beast is right for you.

3. Keyton K1-Blender | Budget Pick

Best Personal Blender for Protein Shakes

If you are looking for a good blender for protein shakes on a budget, this single-serve blender is the best choice. It’s one of the most affordable personal blenders available on Amazon.

Even though it’s inexpensive, it’s very powerful. It comes with a 300-watt motor, which is enough power for small amounts of ice cubes, frozen fruits, and chopped veggies.

It comes with a portable blender bottle that you can take with you to the gym or work without the risk of spillage. It’s effortless to use, it needs only one touch and can run completely hands-free.

It comes with a 21 oz BPA-free sports bottle, which is the biggest sized bottle of all small budget blenders reviewed on this site. You can throw the bottle in your dishwasher after you used it and forget about it.

Measuring just 5 x 5 x 15 inches, it’s the perfect size for small spaced kitchens or to use in dormitories, where space is usually limited. The Keyton K1-Blender comes with a one-year limited warranty.

Cons: What’s not to love about this personal blender? Finding any cons is hard. It’s the cheapest personal blender reviewed here, comes with a powerful 300-watt motor and a 21 oz BPA-free sports bottle. The bottle size is great for protein shakes in my opinion, but for some people, it might be too big. The only reason it didn’t make it to the top choice is the design. I simply like the Oster My Blend better with its colorful, stylish look.

Overall Opinion: Great protein shake blender, that won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Don’t be fooled by its small size and low price; the blender is powerful with its 300-watt motor. If you like the simple design of the Keyton K1-Blender, go for it. It costs less than $20 and is easy to maintain and use. If you’re on a budget, the Keyton K1-Blender is the best blender for protein shakes.

4. Hamilton Beach Personal Blender | Runner-Up

Hamilton Beach Protein Shake Blender

The Hamilton Beach Personal Blender has a sleek design that fits well in small kitchens. It has a 175-watt motor, which is sufficient for simple protein shakes and fruit smoothies. However, it’s not enough power to grind coffee beans or blend veggies.

The blender comes with a 14-ounce BPA-free portable blender jar, which will most likely fit in your car cup holder. It’s straightforward to use thanks to its one-touch control. You simply hold down the button, and your protein shake will be ready after a few seconds.

It tends to be quieter than other personal blenders, but noise is not a big issue with all small blenders in general.

It has a wrap-around cord, so you can easily store the blender or take it with you on your travels. The protein shake blender comes with one jar and lid, and they are dishwasher safe.

Cons: I don’t like that the blade doesn’t detach from the bottle, it’s weird that you have to take the blade with you if you take it to the gym. The jar is also a bit too wide to hold comfortably.

Overall opinion: The Hamilton Beach Personal Blender does have its downfalls, but it’s still a decent blender for protein shakes and simple fruit smoothies. It has a low price tag, and I love that it hardly makes any noise while blending.

Overall opinion: If you have room for the extra size and want the maximum power for your protein shakes, go for the Aicok. It’s a smart blender that is easy to use and truly powerful. The 1200 watt motor breaks the contents down nicely, without leaving any chunks. For almost the same price as the Nutribullet 900, this personal blender delivers more power and features. Nutribullet Pro 900 for Protein Shakes

I guess you have heard of the magic bullets? Nutribullets are the high-end version of the popular magic bullets. They cost more than the magic bullets, but they have at least double the power.

By now there are so many Nutribullet models on the market, that it can be quite confusing. The Nutribullet Pro 900 is the big brother of the Nutribullet 600. It not only has a bigger motor and 50% more power than the 600 model but also bigger cups as well.

The 900-watt motor is powerful; it will help you create even smoother protein shakes and smoothies than the 600 model can. It has a high speed up to a maximum of 25,000 RPM and comes with two 32 oz cups. This is great if you want to make two large shakes at the same time.

The blender is easy to clean. Just fill the jar with soap and warm water and turn on the blender for a few seconds. Alternatively, you can throw all of the pieces, except the blades, in your dishwasher.

Cons: Even though the Nutribullet Pro has a 900-watt motor, it’s not designed to crush ice without added liquids. Its cheaper competitor, the Nutri Ninja Pro, handles tough ingredients like ice much better. Some customers also complained about leaking pitchers and plastic parts that do not seem durable.

Overall Opinion: If you want to make shakes or smoothies with ice, frozen fruits, nuts, or veggies, the Nutribullet Pro 900 will do just fine. However, If you want to go for strict ice crushing (with no liquid), the Nutribullet Pro 900 isn’t for you. The Nutri Ninja Pro is less expensive and will give you more bang for your buck.

Best Protein Shake Blenders

1. Hamilton Beach 58148A Power Elite | Best Choice

Hamilton Beach 58148A Protein Shake

If you are looking for an affordable but powerful protein shake blender, the Hamilton Beach Power Elite is the best option.

It is powered by a 700-watt motor and comes with a 40 oz pitcher. Most blenders only have plastic jugs, but this blender comes with a glass jar and can handle hot liquids easily.

Aside from making delicious protein shakes and smoothies, you can make icy drinks, frozen desserts, purees, and diced vegetables for soups or salsa.

The blades and the Wave-Action system are designed to give you the smoothest blend possible. This system helps to pull all ingredients down into the blades during the blending process

You can choose from 12 different blending functions, including Crushing Ice and Easy Clean option. With these 12 functions, you’re sure to find the right setting for your creamy protein shakes.

The Hamilton Power Elite is easy to use. Pour in your liquid, add your ingredients and choose your blending function. It doesn’t get much easier than that.

Cons: The 700-watt motor won’t blend dry ingredients very well, you will need to add liquid for it to function correctly. The glass jar is also heavier than plastic jugs.

Overall Opinion: The Hamilton Beach Power Elite is an excellent blender for protein shakes, that won’t cost you an arm and a leg. It’s the only standard blender reviewed here that has a glass jar.  It comes with a 3-year warranty, which is pretty good for a blender in this price range.

2. KitchenAid KSB1575ER Diamond Blender | The Beauty

Kitchenaid Diamond Blender for Protein Shakes

KitchenAid has been producing stand mixers and blenders for almost 100 years now. Many people still have their first KitchenAid blender, because even after decades it still does the job.

This KitchenAid Blender is well equipped for your milkshake-like protein shakes. The Diamond Blending system ensures that all your ingredients blend quickly and efficiently. The retro design looks beautiful. You can choose your favorite color out of 21 colors.

This blender has a large 60 oz BPA-free jar that allows you to blend large quantities at once. You can throw all the parts in your dishwasher and forget about it. KitchenAid claims the pitcher to be shatter-, scratch-, and stain-resistant.

The Clean-Touch Control Panel wipes clean easily, and the LED lighting looks gorgeous. It makes the display much easier to see and work with.

The interface is easy to use. I like that KitchenAid doesn’t overcomplicate things. There are just five settings, and it’s easy to figure out which one to use depending on what you’re putting into the blender. The five speeds give you full control over your shakes. You can decide exactly how creamy you want them to be.

The KitchenAid Diamond Blender is smart! It comes with an intelligent Soft Start feature, as well as Intelli-Speed Motor Control.

The Soft Start feature starts the motor at a slower speed to pull food into the blade then quickly increases to the selected speed setting. It makes short work of even tough ingredients like ice. The Intelli-Speed Motor Control senses the ingredients you put into it and automatically maintains optimal speed.

The KitchenAid Diamond Blender comes with a 5-year limited warranty. Measuring 9x 8.5x 16.5 inches, this protein shake blender is well suited for small kitchens.

Motor power isn’t everything. Even though the KitchenAid blender has less power than a Vitamix, it still does a great job thanks to the blade design and its smart features:

Cons: At the height of almost 17 inches, the blender is tall and might not fit under your cabinet. Although smart and powerful, it’s not a high-performance blender. If the motor is used too much, it can burn out. Always add enough liquid to your shakes and smoothies. The price is higher than other blenders on this list, as it’s made in America.

Overall Opinion: This blender is by far the most beautiful blender reviewed here. I love the retro KitchenAid design. It performs surprisingly well for a 550 Watt Blender. The smart features ensure that all ingredients you put into it blend together quickly and efficiently. It’s made in the USA and comes with a 5-year warranty.

Overall Opinion: If you want an affordable blender for protein shakes, the Black + Decker Crush Master is the best option. It’s probably the most inexpensive blender you can find on the market. The multiple speed levels and the 550-watt motor make this blender a great buy for the low price tag.

  1. With the low-speed mode, you can chop veggies for dips and salsa.
  2. The medium setting is perfect for your milkshake-like protein shakes.
  3. For thick smoothies and tougher ingredients like spinach, or ginger, you would need to choose the high-speed mode.
  4. The pulse button is intended for controlled chopping and processing and turns your Ninja Professional into a food processor.

The multiple blade design and the 1000-watt motor takes it to a level that’s higher than any other blender in this price range. Other customers seem to agree with me, as it has 1,000’s of positive reviews and continues to be a bestseller.

The blades work at up to 37,000 RPM and provide a speed of up to 240 mph.

There is a built-in advanced cooling system in the Vitamix that cools the motor while it’s working. The system can automatically shut the motor off to prevent overheating. The container sits on a rubber pad. It makes it more stable when you’re blending.

The Vitamix 5200 is one of the most robust blenders money can buy. It’s made in the USA and comes with a full seven-year warranty that you can extend to ten years for a fee. Vitamix does have an excellent customer service track record.

Cons: The Vitamix 5200 is not dishwasher safe, but it has a Self-Cleaning Function that gets the job done very well. Just add a drop of soap and warm water. Run the blender for 30 seconds and it will clean itself, while you are doing something else. The Vitamix 5200 is one of the most powerful blenders on the market and the 2 horsepower motor is louder than a standard blender. The price is only worth the money if you are serious with blending.

Overall Opinion: With a Vitamix, you pay for quality and power. It’s one of the most reliable and durable blenders on the market. Countless Starbucks stores, smoothie shops, and restaurants use Vitamix on a daily basis. It’s a bit of an overkill if you’re only going to use it for protein shakes. However, if you are serious with blending and a healthier lifestyle, it’s well worth the investment and will last you for many years to come.

3. Oster Pro 1200 Plus | Budget Pick with Glass Jar

Oster Blender Pro 1200 Plus for Protein Shakes

The Oster Pro 1200 Plus is the best blender for protein shakes if you’re on a budget. The brushed metal finish looks fantastic in any kitchen. Don’t be fooled by its relatively small size; the blender is powerful with its 1200 watt motor.

It comes with a 48 oz glass jar and a 24 oz jug. It allows you to make single-serve protein shakes using the 24 oz cup or make larger batches of shakes using the glass jar.

The jar is made out of borosilicate glass, which is more expensive and more resistant to temperature changes. Glass jars won’t leach any chemicals like plastic can.

When you shop for a blender, you have two choices. You can go for a single-serve personal blender or a full-size countertop blender. The Oster Pro 1200 combines these two types of blenders in one device. You can blend your shakes either in the 48 oz glass jar or use the 24 oz smoothie cup instead and make your shakes directly inside the cup.

The powerful 1200 watt motor will give you enough blending power to add ice cubes, frozen fruits, veggies, or nuts to your protein shakes. It’s powerful enough to crush ice, make frozen desserts or salsa and even grind coffee beans without an issue.

Comparing to previous Oster Pro models, this new model features a 50% wider blade system and gives you faster and smoother results.

The Oster Pro 1200 is very easy to use. The 3 Smart Settings eliminate any guesswork. You press one of the three preset functions Salsa, Milkshake or Smoothie and you’re good to go. The Dual Direction System helps pull ingredients into the blades and prevents protein powder from sticking to the sides of the jar.

Besides the three pre-programmed cycles, you can also choose from 3 different manual speeds and a pulse function, giving you even greater control when blending.

For most smoothies, the preset function works really well. However, if you’re making smoothies with tough ingredients like spinach or kale, the cycle is a bit too short, and you might need to run it twice. The milkshake modus will help you create creamy protein shakes without fail.

Measuring just  7.25 x 8 x 14.25 inches this blender is smaller than other high-end blenders. It’s a great option if you are looking for a medium-sized blender that won’t take much space on your countertop, but still has enough blending power to make frozen shakes, nut butter, salsa, and crushed ice.

The Oster Pro 1200 comes with a 3-year satisfaction guarantee and a 10-year limited warranty on the Duralast All-Metal Drive. The drive socket interface between the jar’s bottom and the base is all metal. Oster claims that this Duralast All-Metal Drive is tested to blend up to 10,000 smoothies and outlasts competitors’ plastic drives by far.

Cons: The 24-oz smoothie cup is too wide to hold comfortably if you have small hands. The smoothie cup is also prone to spilling and leaking. I don’t recommend you bring it with you on the go. Although I love glass jars, they are still heavier than plastic jars.

Overall Opinion: The Oster Pro 1200 is an affordable option if you aren’t ready for the price tag on other high-end blenders. The blender comes with a 1200 watt motor and has more blending power than other blenders in this price range. Is it really as good as other high-powered blenders? It’s close. It delivers results that are similar to other high-end blenders, but it takes more blending time for difficult tasks. It’s strong enough to create tasty protein shakes, make healthy green smoothies, crush ice and even pulverize dry ingredients like nuts. Finding anything better for this price is hard.

4. Blendtec Classic 575 | 3 Horsepower Vitamix Alternative

Blendtec 575 Best Blender for Protein Shakes

Just like the Vitamix 5200, the Blendtec Classic 575 is a high-performance professional blender that does it all. Blendtec ranks among the best blenders on the market, and countless juice bars, coffee shops, and eateries around the world use it.

You can put pretty much anything into the jug, and you don’t have to worry about it being able to handle the load.

The huge 96 oz WildSide+ jar is a five-sided jar that has bigger blades and helps you make a super-smooth blend in no time.

It works well for protein shakes, smoothies, green smoothies, ice creams, dips and dough making. You can make large batches of shakes or smoothies for up to 11 people!

The smaller 64oz jar is the classic four-side jar and works well for regular blending jobs. The classic jar heats soup faster than the WildSide+ jar because it generates more friction.

Cleanup is a breeze. Just add warm water and a drop of soap and press the Clean button. The cleaning cycle is brilliant; you can walk away and do something else while your blender is cleaning itself.

Both jars work great, but you will love the WildSide+ jar. It blends super smooth with no clumps, like no other jar on the market right now. You won’t have to worry about any chemicals in your shakes and smoothie; both jars are made from 100% BPA-free material.

The powerful 3-horsepower motor offers 1575 watts of power. You won’t need a food processor. The Blendtec does it all thanks to its 3 hp horsepower and great blade and jug design. It has an intuitive control interface that is easy to keep clean.

You have five speeds and four different pre-programmed cycles to choose from. There is a cycle for Smoothies, Easy Clean, 60 seconds cycle and 90 seconds cycle. The five manual incremental speed cycles give you complete control of the consistency of your blend. You can choose the Pulse setting for an additional surge of blending power.

Just add your ingredients into the jar, choose your preprogrammed cycle and you can walk away. The blender will do all the work, while you can do other kitchen tasks. Come back in a minute, and your shake or smoothie is ready. The illuminated LCD timer shows you the remaining blending time. It doesn’t get much easier than that.

Let’s see how the Blendtec handles an iPhone. Don’t try this at home:

A Blending 101 Quick-Start Guide with delicious recipes is included. The Blendtec Total Blender comes with an 8-year comprehensive warranty. You can choose your favorite color out of 6 colors so that you can match its look to fit your kitchen. It’s made in the US.

Cons: Just like other high-performance professional blenders, the Blendtec Classic 575 is loud. Many people prefer the Vitamix because of the tamper. Blendtec blenders don’t come with a tamper. This requires you to stack the ingredients in a certain order. A “Stack Like This” instruction guide is included with every blender.

Overall Opinion: The Blendtec Classic 575 is an excellent high-performance blender. Like other high-end blenders, the 3 horsepower motor is noisy. If you can stand the noise and price, this is the type of blender built to endure a lot of heavy usage for many years to come.

There is a wide range of protein shake blenders out there. All of the listed blenders here are great for making simple protein shakes. If you only want to mix protein powder with liquids, I would go for the cheaper, less powerful options. I hope you have found this site useful to find your best blender for protein shakes, that perfectly matches your budget and needs. If you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them in the comments section below.

Vibrant Happy Healthy

  1. Out of all the choices you have covered in the article above, I really took to the look of the Oster BLSTPB-WBL My Blend. Unfortunately you mention that it’s a good choice for protein shakes that involve just fruit….and I do like to add a lot of ice cubes to my shakes.

Will this model also handle the ice cubes, or am I better off going for another model in your article?

    • Hi Chris, the Oster My Blend will do fine with small amounts of ice. For larger amounts of ice in your shakes and smoothies, I would go for a blender with at least 700 watts blending power.

  2. Thanks for your comprehensive list of blenders. I really like how you broke down the post into categories depending not he size. For my size, I know how popular and easy to use is the Nutribullet,So I am really interested in that one and had no idea there were so many models, I also hadn’t thought about needing the power to crush ice.  Ok I’ll look into the Nutribullet Pro 900 versus the Nutri Ninja Pro.  Thank you for expelling the latter is less expensive so I’ll get more value for my dollars.

    • Thanks, John. The Nutribullet and the Nutri Ninja are both super easy to use. I just like the price of the Nutri Ninja better 🙂

  3. I love your website.

It’s beautiful. The layout, the text, the pictures.

I love a good old blend any day…

There really are so many different options to choose from.

I liked that you linked to Amazon. They are a reputable supplier if ever there was one.

I really don’t know which one to choose!

    What is your recommended one?

  4. Thank you to cover this topic , took me a while to find the best shaker and i tried few of them and was not happy with it and now im using the Oster My Blend it’s really good doing the job and i’m happy with it . great job and thanks again for the unique article

  5. Hi Phil.

Wow! With so many awesome choices it is really hard to pick out just one. As far as blenders go, I had to downsize to a personal and the one I chose was the Hamilton Beach one. We travel a lot and my two Ninjas (one a juice/soup maker that I loved loved) and a smaller blender took up too much space and weight in our luggage.

I too like the looks of the Oster My Blend. Cool colours.

  6. Vanna Denham

I would definitely be needing the full size blender for protein powder and all ingredients.  We are all smoothie crazy in my house.  When I start to make one for myself everyone else seem to appear.

I reviewed the ones you reviewed and you gave a lot of great information.  We know we need a powerful motor for all the use it gets, plus some of us use nuts and beets that require the power as well.  Since most of them can be found on Amazon we’re gonna doing a little more research there.

Thanks for the post it’s been very helpful.

    V. Pearl

  7. I have always prefer to use blender to blend almost anything into liquid, but I notice there is always foam when I used high powered blender to blend my protein which I don’t like. But with these post i know what type of blender to use to blend my protein product and also where to get them. Thank you very much for the post it has been really helpful. This will help a lot of people out there.

  8. I liked the PopBabies Portable Blender. It’s a very cute and small one and it seems to be highly portable also. You said that the power it has is enough to crush ice cubes but don’t you think only 175 watts is too less power? Do you think it will be good or do you suggest me to try Oster BLSTPB-WBL My Blend instead?

    Gee Ess

    • The PopBabies has enough power to crush small ice cubes. There’s a small ice cube tray included in the box.

The Oster is also capable of blending small amounts of ice. If you want to add a lot of ice to your shakes, i’d definitely go for a stronger blender like the Nutri Ninja.

  9. ohhh thanks my blender does not work anymore and I was look for another one, the problem is that I did not know which one to choose.

Thanks to you, I have an overall idea of which type of blender is fits me more. I don’t like the popbabies, because I really don’t like to charge my blender. Other than that it’s a difficult decision. I think I might go for the ninja, what’s your thought?

Thanks for helping me on my decision!

    • Hi Fredery, I think the Ninja is an excellent decision. It’s a powerful blender and very affordable. I have one at home and I pretty much use it every day for years now.

  10. Antonis Christonasis

Really love the clean look of your website and your recommendations. I came here from your aojiru post, but this ones seems really helpful as well. I have recently started pursuing a doctorate, so my schedule is really busy. Hence, I am thinking of adding protein shakes to my diet, since I don’t have the time to always prepare proper meals, and I prefer protein shakes to other shitty stuff I can eat. I will be keeping your article in mind!

  11. Sujandar Mahesan

I workout a lot and now I am looking for a protein shake blender for me and I am really glad that I found this article. This article had the best protein shake blender and I was able to find the one I like.

Out of all the suggestions I personally like the Oster BLSTPB-WBL My Blend. I like its style and size. It is the exact size I was looking for. I didn’t want anything bigger. Then the price, for me it is really affordable. So I am going with this blender.

It is a well written post and the features were easy to understand. Thank you so much for sharing this article.

  12. I own the nutribullet and I can say I am very pleased with its performance. I would like to make bigger servings so I am looking for a bigger machine. It’s a toss up between the vitamix and ninja IQ after reading this review I think my mind is made up on the ninja.

    Thanks for sharing this review

  13. Wow what a wonderful list of blenders. There are just so many to choose from. Thanks for providing videos on each of these. I’m actually looking for a personal blender like the first on the list, Oster BLSTPB-WBL, but there is problem with the page. I guess it’s no longer available on amazon or they have a newer model. I’ll need to check some more blenders. Thank you for the reviews!

    • Hi,

You’re right seems like the Oster MyBlend is out of stock right now. I’m going to replace the link soon, if it stays that way.

  14. Hello,

of all these blender options I will prefer the PopBabies Portable Blender, I like to make my protein shakes right after the gym. I love the design and how portable it is. Thanks for providing us with a comprehensive list of these blender. Another way I would have loved it is if you had compared and contrasted their different features. You did a good job nonetheless.

    • Thanks, Salim. I’m always looking for ways to improve the site, thanks for the suggestions. The PopBabies is really an unique blender, I’m sure you’ll love it.

  15. Well written article. My blender has actually packed up and I’m looking to get a new one. Sincerely I use my blender to blend more than fruits and I’m looking for something big and powerful. So, I think I like the aicok because of how powerful it is. I won’t have to worry when I try to add some nuts or ice cube in it. Thanks for the article.

    • Hi Louis,

You’re welcome. The Aicok is a good blender, it won’t have any difficulties blending even tough ingredients.

  16. What a diverse array of blenders, Phil!  Amazing choices…and you’ve detailed the pluses and the negatives succinctly.  I’m going to have fun weighing this one against that one, I am thinking.

I love the look of the Oster My Blend, but at 250 watts, it does seem a bit too wimpy for my needs.  (I do like lots of ice and chopped fruits, nuts and seeds in my concoctions.)  Hmmm….

And while I like the idea of the personal-sized blenders, it seems to me that I am more drawn to the countertop ones because I do have a tendency to make more than one serving at a time.

Maybe I need to use your strategy — one personal sized thing and one counter-top one.  ACK!

    • I really wouldn’t recommend my strategy, I own way too many juicers and blenders 🙂

You’re right, if you’re serious about smoothies and shakes and use your blender almost daily, it’s good to have one countertop blender and a personal blender. Personal blenders are super convenient and easy to clean, but if you want more than one or two servings at a time, you’ll need a full size blender.

  17. Sam Frederiksen

we have the nutri ninja and we love it.  We have made so many yummy drinks.  Worst thing we finding is when we make one everyone crowds around and wants one too lol.  It hard to just make one for yourself:) hahahaha  Guess we need to teach the kids how to make them for us instead:)

    • I have a Nutri Ninja myself and you’re right, it’s an awesome machine. Would be nice to have someone to make smoothies and do the cleanup afterwards 🙂

  18. Hi Phil,

I am a huge protein shake nut and even I didn’t know that there were so many types of blenders! This review blew me away. I have owned the Ninja Professional and your review of it is spot on. It’s a beautiful blender that is a delight to use. I particularly enjoyed the first section about portable blenders as I have really been thinking about investing in one lately. The ones you discuss have great reviews and I will definitely be narrowing down a top choice in the near future. Thank you for the great information!

    • Hi Dan, I’m glad you’ve liked this review. The only portable blender here (I mean battery powered) is the PopBabies blender, perfect if you want to make protein shakes right after the gym.

  19. This is a very detailed review with lots of information. I would definitely be able to find what I need here. I recently decided to include ice cube in my shakes and did not know my blender wasn’t powerful enough. I ended up damaging my perfectly fine blender which meant I had to get a new one if I was to take my morning protein shakes.

I would be going for a more powerful blender and it seems the Nutri Ninja Pro BL456 would be just right for me.

  20. I started going to the gym a few months ago and I decided to search for blenders on Amazon but I couldn’t pick the right one so I decided to google it! I’m glad I landed on your review and I love the fact that you are giving your honest opinion and showing the pros and cons!

Thanks for sharing this now I know which one to buy 🙂

  21. Ainars Ozols

I can’t believe I bought my wife such a great blender. She asked for Ninja Professional BL610 for months. She wanted something she can use for everyday kitchen life and especially for making her green smoothies. My favourite after workout smoothie recipe: ice, banana, peanut butter, scoop of protein powder and water.

    • Sounds like a delicious protein shake recipe right there, I’m definitely going to try this out. Thank you very much for sharing 🙂

  22. First of all, I want to say this a great review of blender options. We have a 20-year old Vitamix blender. And we use it all the time. So it has a place on the kitchen counter. And , yes, it is loud. And strong. The gears that match up the blades and motor are metal. Some blenders use plastic or composite material that will wear out. Considering how long we have had our Vitamix, it was a value purchase worth the money spent.

    • Hi Glen, I totally agree. I own a Vitamix 5200 for quite some time now (not 20 years though) but it’s worth the investment. Especially, if you want to use your blender daily, Vitamix is the to go brand.
