Hi Linda, I would go for a Ninja blender, probably the Ninja Chef. It’s a decent blender, uses similar blades like a Vitamix and comes with a tamper, super easy to operate and not that expensive.

Hi Scott, I own both a Ninja and a Vitamix. Both are decent blenders, but the Vitamix is just in a whole other league. The drinks and smoothies are super smooth.

Thank you for this informative post. I was about to comment here and ask how the Ninja compares, as that’s what I currently have, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw you cover it here.

It never occurred to me to consider the brands and models used by large corporations as I just assumed the used custom made solutions.

Thanks again. I’ve been happy with the Ninja but, when the time comes, I may step into the Vitamix arena.

This is the blender that is killing it right now.. If you are someone that loves blending fruits or making smoothies I would recommend getting a Vitamix blender they are really worth the price... investing in one of these blenders will definitely change your experience with blending.. really love this article...keep up the good work..

I had never heard the term vitamix. This was so interesting. Imagine using the blender to make healthy smoothies for breakfast? Or doing a veggie vitamin lunch shake? See, I had always in mind to do these things but never did it :( what’s a good blender for beginners? I’m not ready to invest $1000 in a blender.

Hi Stephen,

the Vitamix 750 is a great blender. I own an older Vitamix for years now and I really don't want to miss it. The quality of the smoothies and drinks is just excellent.

I like the self-cleaning mode, but pretty much any blender can clean itself. Most blenders don't come with a preset self-cleaning mode though, so the 750 takes convenience to a whole new level.

When it comes to affordable blenders, I would almost always go for a Ninja blender. I like the Ninja Chef, if you're looking for a Vitamix alternative. The Mega Kitchen System is a great allrounder. The new Smart Screen w FreshVac is great if you're going to make a lot of smoothies.

All of the blenders which you recommend sound really good, and I really love the sound of the Vitamin Quiet One, but as you say, the price is way above the amount that most people would be prepared to pay for a blender.

For myself, I think I would choose one of the Ninja blenders. I do love to make a healthy smoothie!

I wondered which of the more affordable ones is your favourite?
